7K a year Gerstell Academy is an independent, co-educational, non-sectarian college preparatory school for students entering Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12.
As the firs leadership school established in Maryland, Gerstell Academy is devoted to the development of leadership skills with an emphasis on physical fitness and to the mastery of fundamental knowledge in a traditional college preparatory curriculum.
Gerstell's leadership-based program develops moral values, social skills, manners, and critical thinking in tomorrow's citizens while promoting rigorous academics.
The four pillars of a Gerstell education include:
Leadership, College Preparatory Academics, Physical Training, and Modern Language Proficiency.
Must have proven leadership experience and the capacity to teach Upper School English courses for the 2023-2024 academic year.
Duties will include teaching the Gerstell Academy Mission, Motto, Leadership Principles and Attributes, teaching English courses, curriculum mapping, serving as a student advisor, and other duties as assigned or needed to develop school programs.
Hold at least a Bachelor's Degree in English, have prior teaching experience and proven leadership skills.
Must be able to teach English as an academic course and as a vehicle to teach leadership education, critical thinking skills, and character development.
